With the opening of Forty Hands in October 2010, the beginnings of a Singaporean coffee revolution started to brew. Taking it’s name from the 40 hands it takes to produce a coffee from bean to cup, the cafe breathed new life into the once sleepy neighbourhood of Tiong Bahru with it’s delicious specialty coffee, tasty Australian style brunch and friendly, personal service.
The cafe soon won over locals and visitors alike prompting Aussie founder, Harry Grover to open Common Man Coffee Roasters in 2013 and further champion the specialty coffee movement with a wholesale coffee roasting team as well four further bustling cafes.
In May 2018 the team moved East and opened the second Forty Hands outlet in the bustling ‘hood of Joo Chiat.  Alongside signature favourites, the new outlet has given Forty Hands the chance to explore it’s kopitiam roots and add new dishes, such as the Stinky Har Cheong Gai Waffle, to its brunch line up.
Decorated in an eclectic style to reflect the quirky nature and neighbourly vibe of their locations. Each café has a custom made Synesso coffee machine, comfy corners for private brunches and large sharing tables to enjoy with friends. Come in, enjoy a brew and say hi when you’re next in the neighbourhood!
